Skiers from 11 countries took part in the Europe & Africa Waterski Championships from 29th of March until the 1st of April 2012.
Congratulations to Reflex Team Athletes in the Moomba Masters. Iris Cambray 2nd, Clementine Lucine 3rd and Alex Poteau 4th in the Tricks event. After a big presence at the Moomba the team traveled to Mandurah for the World Cup with Clementine Lucine taking first place in Tricks and Alex Poteau 2nd and Pierre Ballon placing 3rd. Bravo athletes!
Après une grosse présence aux Moomba Masters d'Australie (Iris Cambray 2d, Clémentine Lucine 3eme and Alex Poteau 4eme) les membres de notre équipe de Shortboard font un carton lors de la première étape de la world cup qui avait lieu à Mandurah: Clémentine Lucine prend la première place chez les filles alors qu'Alex Poteau et Pierre Ballon s'accordent respectivement les 2eme et 3eme marches sur le podium, chez les hommes.

WON THE BIG-DAWG AT THE MOOMBA!
For the first time in its history, the Big Dawg tournament series was held in cooperation with the Moomba Masters in Melbourne, Australia. One French had entered the challenge to do battle with a predominantly North American plate. Thierry Malhomme, who holds the world’s best score in Senior 2, was one of the favorites, but the Big Dawg tournament is home to some of the best skiers in the world and anything can happen. Thierry proves once again his immense talent, his consistency and his professionalism.
The Reflex teams gives a big thank you to Thierry to put Reflex on the podium.

Pour la première fois de son histoire les Moomba organisaient une épreuve +35 en coopération avec le Big-Dawg. Un seul français avait rejoint Melbourne en Australie pour en découdre avec un plateau essentiellement nord-américain. Thierry Malhomme qui détient la meilleure performance mondiale S2 était bien sûr l'un des favoris mais sur ces épreuves où les meilleurs mondiaux sont alignés tout peu arriver... Thierry nous prouve encore une fois son immense talent, sa régularité et son professionnalisme.

THE FRENCH TEAM IS TRAINING AT PUTRAJAYA (MALAYSIA)
Clementine Lucine, Pierre Ballon, Alex Poteau and Marian Malaquin are supervising the training of Water Ski Team Malaysia! It was a good idea to practice before Moomba Australia and a good opportunity for skiers to realize that water skiing is a sport in development and that the French team has a strong reputation.
Clementine holds the world record and is the first woman to trick more than 10,000 points. She took the opportunity to give some professional advice to 8 year old Aaliyah Yoong, one of the most promising skiers of the Asian continent.

Une bonne idée pour s’acclimater avant le Moomba en Australie. Une bonne occasion aussi pour nos skieurs de se rendre compte que le ski nautique est un sport en développement et que l'équipe de France a une forte réputation.
Clémentine qui détient le record du monde et est la première fille à plus de 10.000 points en profite pour donner quelques conseils de pro à la jeune Aaliyah Yoong, une des plus prometteuse skieuse du continent Asiatique.
2012 HEAT MOLDABLE LINER:
The 2012 Reflex Liner has just arrived. The thermo-formable material remains the same as in 2011 but the shape has been optimized for even better molding to the complex anatomy and differences of each foot. Reflex thermo-forming is a great solution for performance and comfort.
The material in the liner is formed under the effect of heat, and becomes thinner where needed and expands in voids between the foot and the heel.
This year the height of the liner was significantly decreased for better aesthetics and a Velcro strap has been replaced by elastic laces that allow a flexible and effective custom fit.

Some of the best skiers from Asia, Australia and the Middle East competed in the Nautique IWWF Asian Waterski and Wakeboard Championships Saturday, October 6th through the 9th. In the Under 17 Girls Tricks division, Reflex Team Member Hanifah Yoong Aaliyah, 8 years of age, set a new record in Malaysia with 3230 points. Also, from Thailand, Thierry Grappe , 6 years of age, made his debut water skiing in the competition.
Les meilleurs skieurs asiatiques, Australien et du moyen-orient s'étaient donné rendez-vous le samedi 8 octobre pour en découdre. Toutes les catégories ont été représentées. Aaliyah Yoong Hanifah (8ans) a inscrit un nouveau record de Malaisie en shortboard avec 3230 pts. Saluons également la première participation du skieur Thailandais Thierry Grappe (6 ans) qui démontre la vivacité du ski nautique en Asie.

The Japan Nationals was held from 22nd to 25th September at Biwa-ko lake where is the 30 minutes drive from Kyoto, Japan.
Yusuke was the silver medalist in overall and slalom, and bronze medalist in trick with Reflex HYBRID and Reflex STEALTH shortboard.

Thierry Malhomme, at the 3rd Place.
Thierry had exceptional performances on the Reflex Warp during the Big Dawg Finals held on September 23 and 24, 2011 at Okeeheelee Park in West Palm Beach, Florida. Thierry ran 39 off (10.75 meters) in all rounds of the preliminary and finals, a total of 5 times over the weekend. He managed to get 2 buoys at the 41 off (10.25) meters line length. In the head to head brackets, Thierry went up against talented athletes Seth Stisher from USA and Jeremy Newby-Ricci from UK. Reflex is a sponsor of the Big Dawg Series.

La nouvelle coque slalom 2012 vient d'arriver avec de véritables innovations qui vont vous permettre d'aller encore plus loin dans vos performances. La base de la chausse reste la même avec sa forte rigidité mais le collier prend de la souplesse en torsion pour libérer la jambe au dessus de la malléole apportant plus de précision et de confort. Un nouveau design du collier autorise une flexion arrière beaucoup plus importante permettant de garder le ski bien devant au passage du sillage. La flexion avant est quand à elle limitée par un tout nouveau le frein de flexion réglable.

Luca Spinelli who is current Italian Under 21 Champion joins the Reflex team. Luca has made this past week-end his personal best in training on the "Zen 66" after trying it out for the first time and running 10.75 meters and getting 1.5 at 10.25 loop. Luca trains at the center of the Italian Nationals in Recetto next to Milan, Italy.

Luca, in questo week-end, ha ottenuto la sua miglior prestazione in allenamento utilizzando uno "Zen 66''. Per la prima volta chiude il 10.75 m e fa segnare 1,5@10.25m. Luca si allena al centro federale italiano di Recetto, nei pressi di Milano.

The first round of the Big Dawg Europe took place this past weekend in Bordeaux, France in conjunction with the French Senior Tour.. This is an exciting event because it was the first Big Dawg Water Ski event that took place in Europe. Thierry Malhomme hosted the first European series at his water ski club in Bordeaux, France. The top Performance on the podium was battled in a head to head in 10.25 meters, 41 off.The 16 finalists are invited to participate in the final of the Big Dawg to be held at Okeeheelee Park in West Palm Beach, Florida the 23rd and 24th of September. The top 8 finalists will go head to head under the lights in an exciting night ski competition on Saturday evening.
La première épreuve du Big-Dawg européen a eu lieu ce week-end à Bordeaux en coopération avec le Senior tour. Il s'agit d'un véritable évènement car cette épreuve de très haut niveau n'avait jamais eu lieu en dehors des Amériques. C'est le club de Thierry Malhomme à Bordeaux qui a été choisi pour cette première. Les performances ont été au rendez-vous car le podium s'est disputé en head to head dans le 10.25. Les 16 finalistes sont invités à participer à la finale du Big Dawg qui aura lieu à Okeeheelee le 23 et 24 septembre prochain.

Francesco Caldarola, from the Ski Club in Laghetto Serlonga won the Italian championship in the under 14 category with 3.50/55/12.00. Francesco has been selected by the Italian Federation to compete in the Junior World Championships in Ukraine at the end of August.

Marion Aynaud crée la surprise à Dubna en prennant la médaille d'argent au championnat du monde 2011 à Dubna.
Marion Aynaud est un pilier de l'équipe de France féminine avec de nombreux succés en championnats et coupes du monde. Sur le papier Marion avait fait une début de saison timide laissant pour un temps l'avantage à ses co-équipières Clémentine Lucine et Iris Cambray . Grâce à son excellente préparation la Volga en a decidé autrement...
Marion utilise un ski Reflex Furtif en corde en main et un ski Stealth en corde au pied.
"THE BONDPLATE"
A new innovative system for skis without inserts: Reflex has developed a new mounting system for skis without inserts. After our experience with "Reflexbonds" the "Bondplate" is an adhesive plaque in "G10" material. Screws are positioned according to international standard and allow easy assembly and disassembly of your bindings. (HO, D3, Connelly, Radar, Wiley...). This allows you to screw your existing plate onto the bondplate exactly like the "Reflexbonds". The plate is placed on your ski within in 5 minutes, without technical expertise. The bonding is done with the 3M VHB, final not to be confused with the Dual-lock which is removable.
The "bondplate" does not change the flex of the skis but contributes to their longevity.
All Reflex skis are now equipped with Bondplate. The "Bondplate" can also be used on skis from other manufacturers because it meets the manufacturers' recommendations in the implementation of the guarantee. (no drilling of the laminate)

"Clem" reste donc avec nous et tout ses fans dans l'attente de la validation de l'IWSF pour le record du monde détenu depuis le 26 octobre 2010 par Natallia Berdnikava.

Lindsay Bordier agé d' à peine 10 ans réalise sa meilleure performance avec 5350 points.
Clementine Lucine broke the world trick record this week-end with 9690 points at the French National Center. The new record is now pending and we look forward the confirmation from the IWWF!
All the other Reflex skiers also had top performances for the first tournament at the CNE which was the qualifier to be on the French team at the next World championships that will take place in Dubna, Russia in mid-July.

MASTERS 2011
Congratulations to the Reflex Team Members Iris Cambray and Alex Poteau for their placement in the U.S Masters held at Callaway Gardens.
Iris set a high level performance, beating the Callaway Gardens trick course record with an impressive 8790 points. In the final, Iris took third place. She was virtually assured a victory with a flawless first run. An unfortunate fall in her second round kept her from taking the top spot.
Alex was asked by the judges to re-do his hand pass because the onboard camera was not working. With great stress management, Alex managed a second place win with 11,320 points on some challenging conditions.
Félicitations à Iris Cambray et Alex Poteau qui terminent respectivement 3eme et 2d de l'US Masters en shortboard. Aux éliminatoires Iris met la barre très haute en battant le record de Callaway Garden avec 8790 pts. Iris prend cette troisième place alors que la victoire lui était quasi assurée grâce à un premier parcours main sans faille. Une chute malheureuse avant l'entrée dans son parcours "corde au pied" ne lui permet pas d'accéder à la plus haute marche. Alex n'a pas non plus été épargné car il a était contraint de refaire son parcours "main" à la demande du jury, la caméra embarquée étant tombée en panne. Grâce à une super gestion de stress, Alex nous offre une super seconde place (11320 pts) sur ce plan d'eau de Callaway Garden réputé très difficile pour les skieurs.

Reflex announce the 2011 Reflex Warp with a 3 hole valve that balances the air inside and outside the ski. The Reflex Warp is the in only ski in the world made in an autoclave which is the technique used in the aerospace and hitech sport industries.
Based on a snow ski system, these buckles allow you to tighten your foot more securely in the shell if needed, and you can consistently get the same tightness everytime.

To set-up your Reflex binding:
The distance between the Toe bar and the Reflex Mechanism.
The Reflex binding is designed to maximize the stiffness between the skier and the ski. If there is a gap between the shell and the plate, this means that the distance between the toe bar and the mechanism is incorrect. Check the latest user manual to adjust to the correct length depending on your shell size.
When you put the shell in the toe bar and close the mechanism, you should feel a strong resistance before the release system clamps.
The tension screw must be set in accordance to your weight.
For the large majority of skiers, the tension on the release mechanism should be set between 4 and 6. It is not recommended to set the tension on the release mechanism over 6 except for high level Trick skiers who use to land heavy front flips.

Step up to easier toe turns, wrap-in's and step tricks. The Toe Link has proven itself on the waters of the world. It is used by skiers of all ages and levels including Nic LeForestier and N-B, the current Men's and Women's World Record Holders. For 2011, the Toe Link has been improved again, combining the core aspects of the design with the Reflex Hard Shell for an even better fit and level of comfort. For developing toe trickers this unique tool will allow you to advance, quickly reducing the cycle time between falls and by allowing the skier to fully use the entire leg for leverage.

<span class="WHITE">The Jablines Water Ski Club is only a 40 minute drive from Paris and 15 minutes from the international CDG airport. Jablines is just on the border of "Dysney-land-Paris". The club is managed by Geoffrey Lavoué, who is also the developer of the Reflex Hybrid slalom ski. There is good news for skiers who would like to benefit from the new 2011 Cleat, but are using the older version of the Reflex Hardshell.
Reflex has developed a small stainless steel Backing Plate that reinforces the inside of the heel and allows you to fit all types of old shells to the Mechanism 500.
You will have an advantage with a more powerful locking system and the new Flexion Brake, which is designed for performance and safety.

French National center is already open for the French team skiers
This is the start of the season for Clementine, Alex and Pierre at Roquebrune-sur- Argens. They just returned from a clinic in South Africa at Nic Leforestier’s lake and their level is already excellent for this early in the season.
Ouverture du Centre National de Roquebrune-sur-Argens. Alex, Clementine et Pierre sont les premiers à dérider le plan d'eau. Le niveau est déjà là grâce au stage qu'ils viennent d'effectuer en Afrique du sud chez Nicolas Leforestier.
